GALMUDUG (SD) – Galmudug State’s Darawish and DANAB forces have today carried out a planned operation suspected Al Shabab hideouts in many parts of southern Mudug region.

The operation was carried out in Gurooley, Dhaghaye, Imaamad, Las-Gaamey and other parts of Southern Mudug, where members of Al-Shabaab were reportedly spotted.

Darawish and DANAB Army Officers said they removed landmines planted by Al-Shabaab and arrested individuals suspected of having links with Al-Shabaab.

Officials leading the operation said that they will intensify operations against Al-Shabaab and vowed to expel them from their hideouts in the southern Mudug region of Galmudug.

The operation came as Al-Shabaab reportedly set fire to civilian own houses in Adale area of Mudug region last night.
