GARISA (SD) – Witnesses say at least five civilians have been killed and others seriously injured in an explosion targeting contractors on the outskirts of Masalani in Kenya’s Garissa County.
The explosive device was said to have been planted on the road, hitting a civilian car the victims were traveling on, according to eyewitnesses.
The Kenyan Authorities are reported to be conducting a search operation for the perpetrators of the blast though no arrests have been made so far.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the blasts, but al-Shabab militants in Somalia have been known to carry out such attacks.
