DOHA (SD) – The Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia Mahdi Mohamed Guled on a working visit to Doha, met with the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Qatar Sheikh Khalid Bin Khalifa bin Abdul Aziz al-Thani.
The two leaders during their meeting discussed strengthening ties and cooperation between the two countries.
The Deputy Prime Minister thanked the Government of Qatar and the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for the warm welcome extended to him and his delegation.
Mr. Mahdi underlined that such meetings and corporation between the two countries is accelerated by the development projects between the two countries, and thanked the Government of Qatar for its development projects in Somalia.
For his part, the Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of Qatar Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdul Aziz al-Thani, pointed out his country’s commitment to strengthening relations between the two countries and the two fraternal peoples, giving priority to the two countries’ priorities.
The Qatari government, which has a strong presence and much criticized political influence in Somalia, and is reportedly working to have a significant impact on the upcoming elections.
