PM Roble orders security agencies to investigate latest attacks

MOGADISHU (SD) – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia Mohamed Hussein Roble on Sunday met with senior officials of the country’s security agencies and the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).

The meeting discussed the latest security situation and the attack in Mogadishu and the explosions that caused many casualties in Beledweyne, the capital of Hiran region.

Prime Minister Roble instructed the Federal Government security agencies to conduct a formal investigation into the recent terrorist attacks, and to strengthen the security of the elections especially the Parliamentary elections & the country as a whole.

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo met with the Commanders of the Armed Forces, Police, Corrections and Intelligence yesterday, Absent from the meeting were Minister of Security Abdullahi Mohamed Nur and Minister of Defense Abdulkadir Mohamed Jama, but attended the PM’s meeting today.

The President instructed the Commanders to strengthen the security of the country and the capital Mogadishu, as well as the Commanders of the Armed Forces to reassure the Somali people during the security operations.
