Deputy PM opens training for Electoral Commissions

Mogadishu (SD) – Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia Mahdi Mohamed Guled (Khadar), opened training for the Electoral Commissions today, urging them to perform their duties honestly.

Mr. Mahdi Mohamed Guled (Khadar) pointed out that this training will help the Electoral Commission in holding a free and fair elections.

The four-day training course on electoral administration and dispute resolution will be delivered by election experts.

The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that these commissions are the result of an agreement reached between the Administrations and the Federal Government, approved by both Houses and the President of the Republic.

Mohamed Hussein Roble, Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, recently appointed the Federal Electoral and Conflict Commissions, sharing the importance of this historic responsibility and Somali people’s expectations with the committees.
