Djibouti responds to allegations made by Somaliland

DJIBOUTI (SD) -The government of Djibouti has responded to allegations made by Somaliland President Muse Bihi regarding the alleged harboring of an anti-Somaliland militia in Djibouti.

Djibouti’s Minister of Finance, Ilyas Moussa Dawaleh, dismissed the claims as baseless, stating that no such militia exists in Djibouti and that his government has not supported any group against Somaliland.

In a brief post on his ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) account, Minister Dawaleh expressed regret over what he described as “false accusations” from Somaliland.

He emphasized that Djibouti is committed to regional unity and integration, working towards peace and stability in the region rather than engaging in actions that could cause harm.

Minister Dawaleh also pointed out that similar accusations were made in the past, alleging that Djibouti had supported Somaliland in the conflict in the Sool, Sanag, and Ayn (SSC) region.
