MOGADISHU (SD)-The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, participated in the ceremony commemorating the 64th anniversary of the country’s independence and unity, urging Somali citizens to strengthen their solidarity and preserve the legacy of their forefathers.
As the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the President received an honorary salute at the Daljirka Dahsoon monument from units of the armed forces, who paraded through various streets of Mogadishu. He also laid a wreath at the monument to honor the Somali heroes who sacrificed their lives and wealth for the independence of Somalia.
The celebration included displays by helicopters of the Air Force, tanks, and military vehicles of the National Army and Police, showcasing the readiness of the Somali armed forces to defend the nation, ensure security, and uphold the unity and sovereignty of the country.
