Egypt and Somalia to cooperate on security

CAIRO (SD) -The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, held an important meeting today with the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. The meeting took place in Cairo and was attended by ministers from both governments, who were part of the negotiations leading to significant agreements on defense and security cooperation between Somalia and Egypt.

Both Presidents jointly affirmed that the defense cooperation between Somalia and Egypt is crucial to enhancing regional security and stability. The new defense agreement will pave the way for close collaboration between both nations’ defense and security ministries, with plans for joint initiatives to strengthen Somalia’s defense and security capabilities.

Following the meeting, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi held a press conference, providing details about the agreement reached and discussing plans for the two countries.

The two Presidents emphasized the importance of strengthening the relationship between the two nations and cooperating in various sectors. They also addressed other key issues impacting the region and the continent’s stability.
