MOGADISHU (SD) – The newly elected 16 parliamentarians in El-Wak, in Gedo region, were sworn in today at a hotel on the outskirts of Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu.
The swearing in ceremony was attended by the Interim Speaker of the 11th Parliament, the Secretary of Parliament and some members of the Jubaland parliament.
The sixteen lawmakers sworn in in Mogadishu today are expected to take part in the election of the Speaker of Parliament and his two deputies, scheduled to take place on the 27th of this month at the Aviation camp.
The election and swearing in of elected members of parliament from El-Wak comes at a time when Villa Somalia has declared it illegal.
