BRUSSELS (SD) -The European Union (EU) has announced additional financial support for the African Union Mission in Somalia (ATMIS), as recently approved by the European Union’s Political and Security Committee.

The European Union will provide financial support to the African Union Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) to enable the mission in carry out its mission effectively.

A total of € 120 million has been approved by the European Union’s Political and Security Committee to include financial support to the African Union Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).

The European Union said it is ready to fully support the strengthening of security gains in Somalia, adding that it is committed to supporting the Federal Government and the African Union Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).

However, the European Union has donated € 2.3 billion to the African Union Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) since 2007.
