HARGEISA (SD) – The president of Somaliland Mr. Muse Bihi has tonight met with the leaders of the opposition parties in Hargeisa, following an intense political crises in the country.
The meeting was facilitated by the European Union, according to Wadani Secretary General Khadar Hussein Abdi.
“Tonight, a meeting facilitated by the EU brought together President Muse Bihi and the leaders of the two national opposition parties. After the meeting, we will report back to the public,” said Waddani secretary general.
While Waddani party said that the meeting was organized by the European Union, Kulmiye party downplayed the role of the EU saying that the meeting was organized by government officials and the Kulmiye party.
The meeting is said to be focused on the electoral crisis that has escalated in recent days.
The two National opposition parties in Somaliland have previously accused President Bihi of refusing to hold the upcoming November presidential elections in the country.
The leaders of the two opposition parties have stated that they will not recognize Bihi as president after November 13, 2022.
