EU Rep and Ambassadors Met with Somalia’s Security Minister

MOGADISHU (SD) -Tiina Intelmann, the European Union Ambassador to Somalia, alongside ambassadors from the EU met with the Minister of Internal Security for the Somalia Government, Abdullahi Mohamed Nur.

According to press releases about the meeting, the two parties convened at the EU headquarters in Mogadishu and deliberated on the security measures of the country during the elections season.

Minister Abdullahi Nur praised and honored the European Union for their continued support for Somalia government and their civilians. He also urged the EU to continue their guidance in matters relating to security, as AMISOM duties will officially conclude in this year, and the Somalia government is arranged to occupy the obligation by 2023.

The EU ambassadors commended the work of the government of Somalia in the current elections. The ambassadors advised and insisted on guaranteeing that parliamentary elections in the country are finalized by the approved date on March 15, 2022.

The EU representatives also pledged to continue their assistance in safekeeping the country and supporting the government of Somalia in all possible ways.
