Bossaso (SD) – Troops from the Puntland security forces was hit with an explosion today in Sugurre area on the outskirts of Bossaso, the capital of Bari region.

The blast was reportedly caused by a remote-controlled landmine.

Witnesses said a convoy of Puntland military vehicles heading towards Af-urur area was targeted by the blast.

A soldier in the vehicle was reportedly injured in the blast.

The report added that the Puntland forces who were targeted by the blast opened fire, but caused no casualties.

The blast came hours after Al-Shabaab militants launched a mortar attack on Af-urur police station in Bari region this morning.
