Farmajo: For our country to be stable, there are countries and individuals who see it as their loss

Mogadishu (SD) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, addressed a gala dinner in honor of the leaders who attended the Electoral Conference in Mogadishu, pointed out that compromise and working for the common good is fundamental to the implementation of inclusive elections that give hope to the Somali people.

The President stressed the importance of the Somali people maintaining their unity, as the country is surrounded by difficult circumstances and we must fraternally consider the future and destiny of our Nation.

“In order for foreigners not to interfere, we must make our own decisions, good or bad, and take responsibility. For our country to be stable and for our people to understand each other, there are countries and individuals who see it as their loss” Said Farmajo.

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo talked about the circumstances surrounding the country’s elections and the outstanding efforts of the Federal Government in implementing inclusive elections that reflect the aspirations of the Somali people.

The President commended the Independent Electoral Commission for the significant steps it has taken in implementing the plan to hold a one person one vote in accordance with the laws and the Constitution of the country, pointing out the importance of extending the mandate of the Commission, in order to give back to the country their experience and the fruits of their efforts.

The dinner was held in honor of Acting Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, His Excellency Mahdi Mohamed Guled, the Presidents of the States, Puntland Said Abdullahi Deni, Jubbaland Ahmed Mohamed Islam, South West Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed, Hirshabelle Mohamed Abdi Ware , Galmudug Ahmed Abdi Kariye and the Governor of Banadir Region Mr. Omar Mohamud Mohamed.
