Farmajo receives Olympic athlete at the Presidential Palace

Mogadishu (SD) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, received members of the Somali Olympic Committee at the State House, encouraging them to raise the profile of the country at the Tokyo Olympic Games.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Federal Government of Somalia Hamse Said Hamse and officials from the Somali Olympic Committee.

The President presented Ali Idow Hassan, one of the stars representing the Federal Republic of Somalia at the World Olympic Games.

“All Somalis stand by you and look forward to your performances, hoping that you will reap the benefits of your training and efforts. Whatever results you bring back from the Japan Olympics, you deserve praise and encouragement.” Said President Farmajo.

Somalia will be represented at the World Olympic Games in Japan by Ali Idow Hassan, who is competing in the 800-meter hurdles and Ramlo Ali, a boxer who is the first Somali woman to compete in this world championship.

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo wished the national athletes success at the World Olympic Games, reminding them the national name and honor they represent.
