Mogadishu June 07, 2023 (SD) -A meeting of the Finance Ministers of the Federal Government of Somalia, the member states, and the administration of Banadir Region was concluded today in Mogadishu.

The two-day conference focused on national financial management, domestic revenue mobilization, debt issues, and Somalia’s participation in international financial institutions.

Speaking at the closure of the conference, the Minister of Finance of the Federal Government of Somalia, Dr. Cilmi Mahamoud Nuur, emphasized that the meeting was a platform that discussed federal financial matters, intergovernmental cooperation, and coordination between federal and regional financial institutions.

“The conference extensively discussed fiscal reforms, economic development, political consensus on national revenue sharing, advancement of World Bank projects, and other supporting agencies for Somalia,” stated Minister of Finance of Somalia, Dr. Cilmi Maxamuud Nuur.

The two-day conference, attended by the federal and regional Ministry of Finance officials, concluded today in Mogadishu with a joint communiqué.

It is worth noting that the Puntland administration had previously declared its intention to boycott similar conferences held by the federal government.
