Galkayo (SD) – Reports from Terage area, west of Galkayo, the capital of Mudug region say that armed forces from Galmudug attacked the town last night.

The Galmudug troops crossed from the southern part of Galkayo, fought fierce battles with Puntland security forces in the Terage area the fire fight resulting casualties.

Preliminary reports indicate that a Puntland security forces soldier was killed and three others were wounded in the fighting, Galmudug casualties are not known.

Reports indicate that both sides of Galmudug and Puntland are currently bolstering their defences, and an all out war is feared to spark.

Authorities and security officials in both Puntland and Galmudug have not addressed the conflict in Terage. There are no known efforts in the region in mediating the sides.
