Five wounded in military-police clashes in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU (SD) – At least five people including a senior police officer have been wounded after Somali military and police forces Wednesday morning clashed ‘over land dispute in Mogadishu.’

According to sources, fighting broke out between Somali National Army and Haram’ad paramilitary forces in Mogadishu amid reports of casualties on both sides.

The two sides exchanged fire at Banaadir area in Mogadishu causing a scare in the city as residents started their day.

Locals confirmed that Abdihamid Abdullahi Fanah, who was leading Haram’ad forces during the clashes was injured and rushed to the hospital.

Benadir regional authorities have not yet commented on the clashes.
