GAROWE (SD) -The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, Abshir Omar Huruse, has officially submitted a formal resignation letter to Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Bare.
The former Minister stated that the reason for his resignation is to dedicate time and effort to participate in the upcoming regional state of Puntland elections, where he is actively involved in the electoral process.
Huruse expressed his satisfaction with the significant achievements made during his tenure in the Somali Federal government, including debt relief, joining the East African Community (EAC), the lifting of the arms embargo, and his role as the IGAD Deputy Secretary-General.
Abshir Huruse is currently in Garowe, where he is expected to announce his candidacy for the Puntland presidency in the upcoming elections.
