Garowe (SD) – Abdiweli Mohamed Ali Gaas, the former President of Puntland, addressed the crisis in Bossaso, the capital of Bari region, following the dismissal of the PSF Director.

Speaking to Universal TV, Abdiweli Gaas said he was warning of fighting between Puntland forces and called for a peaceful end to the conflict.

Abdiweli Mohamed Ali Gaas pointed out that what President Deni is currently going through is not new, and that there had been similar clashes in the past between the PSF and the Puntland leadership.

“I hope the situation in Bossaso is resolved peacefully. There is always a solution to the crisis in Puntland. In my time, such things have happened and they have ended peacefully, but people who are capable than me are in control now, ”said Abdiweli Mohamed Ali Gaas.

Puntland President Said Deni insists on removing Mohamud Osman Diyano, but the PSF’s special unit openly opposed the dismissal.
