DHUSAMAREEB (SD) – The Chairman of Galmudug State Electoral Implementation Team was dismissed on Wednesday following a near-unanimous vote by members of the committee.
Mohamed Dahir Guleed was removed as the leader of electoral commission, according to a statement by the commission.
Mohamed Qasim Mohamud, the agency’s secretary was elected as the new chairperson.
The development comes barely three week after the Chairman of the Federal Electoral Implementation Team was dismissed.
Somalia is expected to concluded its parliamentary elections late next month in accordance with an electoral deal sealed by the federal and regional state leaders following six days talks in Mogadishu.
