Mogadishu (SD) – A delegation led by Galmudug state president Ahmed Abdi Kariye (Qoor Qoor) arrived in Mogadishu today, where they were warmly welcomed at Aden Adde International Airport.
Speaking to the media, President Ahmed (Qoor Qoor) said that this is his first visit to Mogadishu since his election, and that the purpose of his visit is to promote peace and development in Galmudug.
The President said during his stay in Mogadishu he would plans to hold various meetings and consultation with senior federal government officials, although he did not elaborate.
Ahmed Qoor Qoor’s visit to Mogadishu comes at a time when Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Kheyre, who played a major role in his election, and is reported to be very close, has been ousted.
According to sources close to President Qoor Qoor would discussed the political changes with President Farmajo and should not affect the August 15 meeting between government and regional leaders.
