Government announces National Consultative Assembly preparations

Mogadishu (SD) – Somalia’s Federal Government announced that preparations are underway in Mogadishu for the opening of the National Consultative Assembly convened by Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble.

In a statement issued today, government spokesman Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimuu said the conference on the elections would be held in Mogadishu in the coming days.

“Preparations are underway for the opening of the National Consultative Council meeting announced by Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble in Mogadishu in the coming days.” Said Moalimuu.

The spokesperson added “The conference will discuss the acceleration of the elections and their completion, ”


The announcement follows, a meeting between Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble and the Regional Presidents of Puntland and Jubbaland in Mogadishu tonight.

The presidents of Hirshabelle, Galmudug, Puntland and Jubbaland are in the capital Mogadishu, while the president of South West despite his announced refusal to attend is now set to attend the conference, according to the spokesperson.
