Nairobi (SD) – Former Prime Minister of Somalia Hassan Ali Kheyre who is on a campaign style visit in Kenya today met with Somali senators and lawmakers.
The meeting was in consultation with Somali lawmakers and senators in the Kenyan parliament, Hassan Ali Kheyre said in a statement posted on his Twitter account.
“I am honored to have a consultative meeting with Somali parliamentarians and senators in Kenya today. I thank them for all of their support for the Somali people.” Said Kheyre.
Kheyre also mentioned other meetings he recently had “In the past, I have had constructive discussions with the Somali people I met in the capital and with the President of our brotherly Government of Djibouti, who has played and continues to play a major role in rebuilding our government.”
Kheyre reportedly spoke to Kenyans members of parliament he met in Nairobi about his election campaign platform, although he did not elaborate.
Other Somali presidential candidates are currently waging a similar campaigns in Nairobi.
