MOGADISHU (SD) – Heavy fire broke out in commercial areas at the Banadir Intersection in Mogadishu, and efforts are underway to extinguish the blaze.

Although parts of the burning business have been extinguished, but the fire spread to many other areas that are still burning.

The Benadir regional administration fire brigade and Hormuud Telecom are working hard to put out the blaze.

Banadir Governor Omar Filish, visited the site sent his heart felt condolences to Somali traders who lost their property in the fire that broke out in Banadir market tonight.

The fire is estimated to have caused extensive property damage, however no exact figures are available, the fire is said to be the worst fire in Mogadishu in recent years.
