Washington (SD) – Several lawmakers, led by Ilhan Omar, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, have filed a complaint against the act of allegedly forcing Muslims in prison to eat pork or rotten Halal meats by ICE authorities.

The lawmakers, led by Ilhan Omar, have written to the Department of Homeland Security, requesting an investigation into the incident.

A joint statement signed by members of the House of Representatives Ilhan Omar, Rashida Talib and Andre Carson and other dignitaries said this was unacceptable.

The lawmakers specifically blamed the Trump administration for the incident, which was reported in Miami as contributing to inhumane treatment of refugees.
