Mogadishu November 25, 2022 (SD) – The Federal Government of Somalia announced today that one of the senior leaders of the Al-Shabaab group, injured a month ago in an operation carried out by the Federal forces in the outskirts of Mogadishu, has died.
According to Somalia’s Ministry of Information Mohamed Hassan Omar (Abu Abdurrahman), the Al-Shabaab governor in the Banadir region died in the Jilib district in the Central Juba region where he was undergoing treatment.
He is the second high-ranking Al Shabaab leader recently killed during operations launched by the feds and Ma’awisley militias.
Al Shabaab has not confirmed nor denied the death of its governor in the Banadir region.
Somali Federal Government forces in the central areas of Somalia with the help of international friends are conducting operations against Al Shabaab.
