Jubaland President to restore cooperation with the Federal Government of Somalia if re-elected

KISMAYU (SD) Jubaland President Ahmed Madobe, while delivering his candidacy speech for the disputed election expected to take place tomorrow in Kismayo, stated that he plans to restore cooperation between Jubaland and the Federal Government of Somalia.

“There have been points of contention between us, but if you elect me as president, along with the chairman and parliament members, I am ready to try to cooperate with the Federal Government and return to the negotiation table,” said Ahmed Madobe.

On the 10th of this month, the Jubaland administration announced that they had cut ties with the Federal Government of Somalia.
