BOSSASO (SD) The Chief of the Puntland Defense Forces, General Adan Abdi Hashi, made an unannounced visit to the Galgala Mountains, where he declared a state of readiness and combat alert.

General Adan Abdi Hashi, accompanied by the commander of the 7th division of the Bari region, Colonel Barkad Abdullahi Yusuf, and other officers, visited the Golis mountain range on Saturday. Specifically, they inspected the Sugurre and Balli-khadar bases where Puntland forces are stationed.

During his time at these bases, General Adan Abdi Hashi received briefings from various military commanders stationed there.

A statement from the Puntland Defense Forces headquarters indicated that the general ordered all defense forces to prepare for a military offensive aimed at eradicating terrorists hiding in parts of the mountainous areas of the Bari region.

“The general instructed all defense forces to prepare for the military campaign to eliminate the terrorists hiding in some of Puntland’s mountainous areas. This plan is currently the top priority for the Puntland government,” the statement read.
