Kismayo (SD) – The Jubaland Regional Election Committee said it set to hold the elections of the first 14 seats of the administration’s Lower House MP’s.
Elections for the 14 seats will all take place in the capital city of Kismayo, one of the two cities designated for the elections in the Jubaland.
The Regional Electoral Commission did not announce the election date, but it is expected to be held this week or next week.
The announcement follows a press statement from the Federal Electoral Commission, demanding the Lower House Election to star in 48 hours.
Jubaland’s decision to hold elections for the first 14 seats also comes at time when the opposition candidates recently announced their frustration with the pace and lack of transparency of the elections, demanding they be scarped.
