Jubbaland blocks Farmajo’s adviser from Kismayo

MOGADISHU (SD) – Jubbaland authorities have barred Abdi Ali Rage, an election adviser to outgoing Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo from landing at Kismayo Airport.

According to sources privy to the development, Rage who was heading to meet with his clan elders in Kismayo town was warned by Jubbaland state officials against arriving in the town.

The sources confirmed that Rage flown from Somali capital, Mogadishu but his plane was order to make a U-turn.

Rage reportedly wanted to launch political campaign as he eyes parliamentary seat.

On July 30, 2020, Rage was appointed his election advisor to the outgoing president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo.

Prior to his appointed by Farmaajo, Rage was working with Jubbaland President Ahmed Mohamed Islam (Ahmed Madobe). He was fired on 11 April 2019.
