KISMAYO (SD) – Jubbaland Vice President Mohamud Sayid Adan has strongly condemned reports that Jubbaland and Danab forces have carried out a massacre in Qudus.

Sayid Adan, who met with some Jubbaland lawmakers, said he had received complaints about the Danab and Jubbaland forces’ operation in Qudus, about 65 km from Kismayo, the capital of the Lower Jubba region.

The first vice president of Jubbaland has announced that an investigation is underway into the incident which resulted in the deaths and injuries of civilians.

The vice president promised that after the investigation, the authorities would take firm legal action and will hold the perpetrators accountable.

Traditional elders in the village of Qudus have recently told local media that the Jubbaland state and Danab forces burned the village, killing, injuring and destroying public property.
