KISMAAYO (SD) – Six new more members of Lower House have been elected today in Kismayo town of Jubbaland state in southern Somalia.
According to Jubbaland state electoral implementation team (SEIT), two of the candidates who contested the seats have withdrawn from the race.
Omar Ibrahim Hashi won HOP#114 in the first election of the day with 72 votes, while his rival Abdi Adan Abdullahi received 12 votes.
The electoral commission also declared eight votes invalid.
The second seat, HOP107 was taken byMohamed Sheikh Nuur Osman after his challenger, Hassan Osman Adan.
Asad Abdirisaq Mohamed won the Hop #120 seat after defeating his opponent by 77 to 18 votes Said Abdikadir Shukri.
Abbas Ali Ibrahim clinched the Hop # 111 seat while Abdinur Ali Adan won Hop #028 after his challenger, Ahmed Abdi Mohamed dropped from the race.
Saed Mohamed Ali won the Hop # 093 seat.
