Kismayo (SD) – The President of the Jubbaland State of Somalia, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, has received a delegation from the international community at the State House.
The delegation includes UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Somalia James Swan, African Union envoy to Somalia Francisco Caetano Madeira, EU Ambassador Tina Intelmann, officials from the Swedish and Norwegian embassies and other members of the international community.
The meeting discussed the acceleration of the electoral process and how to complete the remaining members of the Upper House which could pave the way for the beginning of the Lower House and the completion of the electoral process.
The President of the Jubbaland State of Somalia, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, said the Prime Minister should be supported and be allowed to work independent in the task ahead which could go a long way in the ongoing process.
On the other hand, the President called for a peaceful solution to the issues that have arisen in the Galmudug State so as not to hinder the important tasks ahead of the Galmudug State which is the responsibility of the Galmudug administration.
