Nairobi December 11, 2022 (SD) – The Kenyan government welcomed an agreement it said was recently reached between the leaders of Somalia and Somaliland in Djibouti.

Monica Juma, the advisor to the Kenyan president on security announced on Twitter that they welcome that Somalia and Somaliland agreed to restart the stalled reconciliation talks between the two sides.

However, Somaliland’s opposition parties said the President’s legal term has ended, he lacked legitimacy in representing Somaliland in the talks.

The presidents of Somalia and Somaliland were in Djibouti attending the wedding of the president’s daughter and did not yet confirm the said agreement.
