Hargeisa December 11, 2022 (SD) – The outgoing President of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi, has today announced that the country’s voter registration for the disputed elections will begin on the 28th of this month.

President Bihi whose legal term in office ended last November ratified the voter registration with a decree.

The voter registration was to take place a few months ago but was delayed due to the outgoing president’s desire to hold the political organizations’ election instead, a move the opposition rejected.

The opposition has not yet reacted to the voter registration announcement.
