Kenyan troops blamed for killing civilians in Somalia

 MOGADISHU (SD) -Somalia’s human rights agency has accused Kenyan forces in Somalia of deliberately killing nomads in the village of Raas Kamboni.

The Human rights agency stated that the Kenyan forces attacked youths in the village of Raas Kamboni, then rounded them up and brutally killed at least three of them.

“The Coalition of Somali Human Rights Defenders (CSHRDS) condemns this barbaric and brutal massacre of non-combatants by Kenyan forces. We call for an international investigation into this monstrous crime, and we call on AMISOM to take immediate action to protect civilians from the ongoing deadly attacks by the KDF”, said the agency in a statement.

A crowd of mostly women and children had staged a protest against the attacks on Raas Kamboni residents, which were carried out by Kenyan Forces which are a part of the AMISOM peacekeeping operation.

CSHRDS also called for an international inquiry into the incident, and to hold the perpetrators accountable.

“We call on AMISOM to take immediate action to protect civilians from the ongoing deadly KDF attacks.” A statement from the Somali Human Rights Defenders Association said.
