LAS ANOD (SD)-The leader of the Khatumo State of Somalia, Abdulkadir Ahmed Aw-Cali Firdhiye, addressed concerns regarding reports of Ethiopian troops being deployed to the regions under his administration.
Firdhiye expressed his opposition to this action by the Ethiopian government, stating that they do not accept interference in the internal affairs of the SSC-Khaatumo region.
Speaking to a crowd of thousands in the city of Las Anod, he warned of potential conflicts if Ethiopian troops were brought into their territories.
He emphasized the responsibility of the local population and their readiness to resist any attempt to violate the sovereignty of the SSC-Khaatumo regions.
Furthermore, he sent a message to the federal government, urging them to adopt a stance supportive of Somali unity as demonstrated by the people of SSC.
Firdhiye also stressed the necessity for the central government to participate in defending the country against any threats to national unity.
Finally, he ordered local forces to remain vigilant and be prepared to defend their territory against any incursions from Somaliland or any other party.
