Nairobi (SD) – Major Kenyan media outlets have been covering the abduction of a Somali businessman in recent days in Nairobi.
On December 23, Mohamed Hassan was reportedly abducted from a business in Machakos, not far from Nairobi, and his whereabouts remain unknown.
It was not immediately clear who was behind the attack, but according to media outlets including Citizen television, there are strong suspicions that the perpetrators may be linked to the government.
The men who abducted the businessman identified themselves as government soldiers enforcing Covid-19 pandemic protocols.
Omar Hassan Mohamed, the missing businessman’s brother, said the people who kidnapped Mohamed were driving a pickup truck.
