Mogadishu (SD) – Mogadishu’s International Book Fair has opened in the Capital, and this is the sixth year the fair has been held since its inception in 2015.
Sheikh Mohamed Diini, the founder of the Book Fair, said they had to cancel last year’s event due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
This year the organisers restricted attendance and the venue was changed, the show is currently taking place at the Jazeera Hotel near Mogadishu International Airport.
The exhibition is scheduled to run for three days and opened yesterday and will close tomorrow.
During the exhibition, books written by Somalis and foreigners will be on display, as well as discussions, workshops, on culture and literature will be presented during the three-day fair.
