MOGADISHU (SD) – Mogadishu district official was shot dead last night on the outskirts of Somali capital barely three months after Hodan DC was assassinated in Mogadishu.

In a statement, Somali police spokesperson, Sadik Adan Ali who confirmed the murder of Mohamed Abdi Hayle said the Commissioner of Hamar Jajab district of Banadir region was killed by suspected terrorists on his way home Sarkusta neighbourhood outskirts of Mogadishu.

The spokesperson said the police launched investigation into the murder of the DC.

“The district commissioner was killed by armed men in Sarkusta neighbourhood. His body taken to the CID department; the officials will carry out autopsy. Investigations are underway,” he said.

No group has yet claimed the responsibility for the murder of the official.
