MOGADISHU (SD) – Mogadishu police commissioner, Colonel Farhan Mohamud Aden has today survived explosion after Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) targeted his convoy at Banadir locality in Somalia’s capital.
Witnesses confirmed that the explosion was injured at least of the commissioner’s bodyguards and several other civilians.
No group has yet claimed the responsibility for the attack but it has the hallmarks of al-Shabaab attacks.
Farhan was appointed last April after his predecessor, Sadak Omar Hassan was fired.
