Mogadishu (SD)- Mohamed Hassan Haad and a delegation of traditional elders who were scheduled to travel to Hargeisa today, were denied entry to Somaliland by Somaliland.
Chief Haad at a news conference in Mogadishu today, confirmed that they were refused to board the plane they were to take from Aden Adde International Airport.
“We could not believe it until we got to Aden Adde International Airport, were the airliner confirmed that they had been instructed by Hargeisa not pick up the elders from Mogadishu,” said Chief Haad.
Mohamed Hassan Haad said they were on their way to Hargeisa to further discuss issues related to youths from Mogadishu detained in Somaliland, whom the authorities previously promised would be released.
Chief Haad at the press conference demanded an apology for the travel restriction and not yet releasing the youths.
The Somaliland authorities didn’t yet respond as to why they refused entry to the transitional leaders and why the said youths were not yet released.
