Hargeisa (SD) – Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi reportedly had a direct meeting today with businessman Ahmed Osman Guelleh, who recently had his business license revoked.
The meeting reportedly lasted for about two hours and it was agreed that Ahmed Guelleh will continue to be the Somaliland representative for the Ethiopian Shipping Line, instead of Muse Bihi’s suspected family member.
Lawmaker Mohamed Hussein Jama Rambo, who is said to be one of the mediators of the said dispute between President Bihi and Guelleh, announced that the issue had been resolved.
“Today, President Muse Bihi Abdi and Las Group Chairman Ahmed Osman Guelleh met at the Presidential Palace. They had a face-to-face meeting that lasted almost two hours, about who is to represent the Ethiopian shipping line.” Said the Lawmaker.
Adding that “It was agreed that Ahmed Osman Guelleh’s representation would continue, and they reached a consensus and a successful meeting.”
Lawmaker Rambo also thanked all those who worked on the meeting and the agreement.
The Somaliland government recently revoked the Las Group’s license amid suspicions that President Bihi’s family was behind the move.
