Hargeisa (SD) – The President of the Republic of Somaliland, HE Muse Bihi Abdi, met at the Presidential Palace with members of the Somaliland National Electoral Commission, discussing the upcoming House of Representatives and local elections.

The National Electoral Commission (NEC) briefed the President of the Republic of Somaliland on their preparations for the elections, noting that they have embarked on the electoral process and are in the process of initiating voter registration.

The Electoral Commission has made it clear to the President that their plan is to hold the elections on time.

The President commended the National Electoral Commission for its diligent work and stressed that the elections should be held within the allotted time.

The President and the Chairman of the Electoral Commission agreed to expedite the holding of the elections, the President was accompanied by Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland, HE Abdirahman Abdullahi Ismail (Saylici).
