Stockholm June 29, 2023 (SD) – Muslims worldwide were deeply disturbed by a recent incident where an individual claiming to be from Iraq desecrated several pages of the Quran as police from Sweden watched.

The incident occurred during the coveted Eid al-Adha Muslim celebrations, Police later charged the man with agitation against an ethnic or national group.

Sweden is known for its hostile treatment of the Quran, and such acts of desecration have been happening within the country, with several instances in the past where desecration of the Quran occurred, leading to no legal consequences.

The government of Morocco, upon learning about the desecration of the Holy Quran, recalled its ambassador to Sweden as a sign of protest. This highlighted the seriousness of the incident that occurred in front of a mosque located in Stockholm.

Additionally, the Turkish government strongly protested against the desecration of the Quran that occurred in Sweden, emphasizing that it is unacceptable and disrespectful to the Muslim community.

Previously, Turkey expressed its dissatisfaction with Sweden’s decision to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, citing several incidents of Quran desecration in that country.
