NISA targets those seeking Al Shabaab courts for justice

Mogadishu September 26, 2022 (SD) – Somalia’s security forces and the National Intelligence Service have started arresting traditional elders and other people who deal with Al Shabaab fighters in the outskirts of Mogadishu.

Al Shabaab often summons people to their courts in the suburbs of Mogadishu and other areas, as well as others they want to discuss issues with.

The government security forces were previously made aware of the people dealing with Al Shabaab in that regard, yet there were no measures taken by the government against them.

However, the current NISA leadership has now started to arrest people who will seek Al Shabaab justice., and traditional leaders that deal with Al Shabaab in any capacity.

The Al Shabaab courts have been busy in recent times, delivering their harsh brand of justice for the people who in conflict, and these courts have been executing their rulings.
