Hargeisa (SD) – Sources in Hargeisa confirmed the arrest of fourth Somaliland military officer from the eastern Burao community at the officers’ headquarters in Hargeisa.

Colonel Fanah Abdi Abdulle arrested in Sanaag region became the fourth confirmed officer to be arrested.

The arrests comes amid a recent revolt by some Somaliland forces in the eastern frontlines.

The arrested military officials are Colonel Jama Mohamud Dolaal, Colonel Saleban Adan Hussein (Chinese), Colonel Farah Mohamed Ahmed.

Some relatives and traditional leaders of the arrested officials are urging the government to release them immediately.

The Somaliland government have not yet commented on the arrests of these officers, adding to the speculations of their incarceration.
