Garowe (SD) – Members of the two Houses of the Somali Parliament praised the political agreements reached on latest Jubaland and Galmudug regional elections.
The communiqué issued last night, read to the media by MP Mohamed Abdikafi Mohamed, lauded the political agreement reached by the Galmudug president, Ahmed Abdi Kariye Qor-qor and former Galmudug president Ahmed Duale Guelleh Haf, ending the dispute over the February 2020 election in Galmudug.
The Galmudug political agreement leaves Ahlu Sunna Wal Jama the sole opposition to President Qor-qor’s leadership in that Regional state.
The communiqué, also praised the agreement reached between Jubaland President Ahmed Mohamed Islam and the opposition, ended the controversy over the August 2019 Jubbaland state re-election of Ahmed Madobe.
The Jubaland political agreements solidifies President Ahmed Madobe’s rule. Leaving the Federal Government being the sole opposition to Madobe’s rule.
In addition, lawmakers have called on the federal government of Somalia and the opposition states to resolve any differences between them through dialogue and compromise.
The Somali Federal Government dismissed the Jubaland political agreements as irrelevant and the ignored the developments in Galmudug.
