MOGADISHU (SD) -Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, chaired a meeting discussing national security, the threat of Al-Shabaab, and how to enhance the security of the capital.
Attending the meeting were the Minister of Interior, the Deputy Minister of Internal Security, Military Commanders, Police, and Security Agencies, the Attorney General of the Republic, the Governor of Banadir Region, and the Mayor of Mogadishu, they’ve all shared reports related to security, particularly during the ongoing holy month of Ramadan, highlighting Al-Shabaab’s intent to harm the Somali people as revealed in recent intelligence reports.
The Prime Minister stressed the importance of empowering security agencies to prevent attacks by Al-Shabaab.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the significance of his government’s efforts in countering the threat posed by Al-Shabaab, accusing the group of targeting the lives and property of the Somali people.
